If you want to continue the journey from Amazonas to Solimoes, without touching the village of Barra do Rio Negro, you can navigate along the southern side of the river through the Uaquiri Canal, a section valued at 28 leagues.

The duration of the trip depends on the size of the vessel and the wind force. The trip from Belem do Para to Barra do Rio Negro has been made in 24 days, in small boats; usual trade canoes spend 36 days or even 48 days; from Belem do Para to Tabatinga, 50 to 60, even 80 days;

from Belem do Para to Vila Bela (Mato Grosso), five, six to seven months.
